Kandid Korea #3: Chicken on the train!

9 Jan

If you have ever traveled in a developing country you most likely have had an experience similar to this, but in Korea, a highly advanced and wealthy country I have to admit I was a little surprised. Even more surprising was that it appeared to be the woman’s pet. Are chickens the new Chihuahuas? or in Korea’s case the new “tiny white fluffy dog of any breed as long as it’s super-cute”? She did have a pet carrier after all! Slap on a fake diamond collar, name it Pooky and we’re good to go!

What’s the craziest animal/thing you have seen on public transportation either abroad or in your home country?

Love this! So cute. And weird. But true. The craziest thing I’ve seen (and I walked out of the house without my camera!) was a full-grown sow sitting on a scooter in the middle of a couple. They were stopped at a red light. The woman lovingly patted the pig’s head while it rested on the man’s shoulder. Crazy! And only in Taiwan.

There was a hipster who used to walk through the neighborhood in Williamsburg with his hog on a leash. I think that’s the most extreme I’ve seen.

Is that a chicken or a chameleon? In one picture, the bird looks yellow, but in the next, it looks blue, lol.
